Our view last week
Alibaba is in the 5th week of a sell signal, and this week the price recovered 1.4% after three straight weekly declines. The bounce doesn't convince on the technical side: weekly CMF fell further, momentum weakened sharply and sell volume stays dominant. On the daily chart a double bottom is forming in the 95 area with a 5% intermediate rebound. The open short position stands at a 20.58% profit.
This week's summary
Alibaba stock surges 16.8% in a week, with 83% of trading volume on the buy side — a sharp reversal from the sellers who ruled just a week earlier. This week's price action shows RSI and MACD improving, though still below neutral: downside pressure holds, but it's starting to waver. The rebound eats into much of the managed Sell signal's profit, down to 7.2% from 20.6% the previous week.
