BlackRock: fresh buy in earnings week
BlackRock climbs 3.5% back near its highs, but volume doesn't confirm
BlackRock: fresh buy in earnings week
Our view last week
BlackRock closed the week up 4.1%, the second straight gain after a sharp 8.1% drop two weeks ago: buyers ran over 80% of turnover and the stock is back near its 50-week average. On the daily chart, though, sellers still hold the upper hand and the distribution phase hasn't cleared: the short open on the sell signal has slipped back into a 4% loss.
This week's summary
BlackRock closes the week up 3.5%, pushing back to the daily upper Bollinger Band, in the 1096 area. But the signal isn't fully convincing yet: daily money flow stays negative and the distribution phase hasn't cleared, with only 19% of last session's volume on the buy side. This BlackRock technical analysis opens with a fresh buy signal, first week, right in the week of the July 21 earnings: an entry to manage with care.
