Sell signal in management, 6th week
Caterpillar stock sheds 3.3% as the double bottom near 805 holds the line
Our view last week
Caterpillar stock closes the week up 1.7% and flips its volume mix: buyers take back control at 59%, up from 29% the week before. The technical picture doesn't really change direction though — the weekly ADX keeps sliding, down from 47 to 39 points, and money flow stays in negative territory. The stock remains boxed into the same tight corridor between resistance and support as last week, with the Sell signal now in its 5th week of management.
This week's summary
Caterpillar reversed last week's move: after a 1.7% rebound, the stock shed 3.3% this week and sellers took back control of volume, 69% versus 41% seven days ago. The ADX keeps falling, its 7th straight week of decline, and the trend is losing energy. But something is softening: on the daily chart a clean double bottom near 805 keeps holding. The Sell signal is in its 6th week of management, the short already more than 5% in profit.
