Sell signal, eighth week
Walmart drops 4.2% as the Sell signal retakes control
Sell signal, eighth week
Our view last week
Walmart's Sell signal has been under management for seven weeks, with the short a touch above 1% in profit. After last week's 1.8% bounce off a clean double bottom in the 109 area, the stock stalled this week: sellers took back control of the tape, and price is boxed into an extremely tight range, the 50-week average just above and the daily Bollinger midline just below, both around the 114 area.
This week's summary
Walmart's Sell signal has been under management for eight weeks, with the short above 5% in profit. After weeks boxed between the 50-week average and the daily Bollinger line, both in the 114 area, this week the range finally broke: a 4.2% drop returned sellers to control of the tape, with money flow turning more negative. Walmart stock remains pinched between a nearby resistance and support, in the 110-109 area.
