The buy signal on the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR had just touched our model's first statistical reference, but the bounce has already faded: the week shed 1% and the trade slipped back into a small loss. Price is boxed between daily support and resistance, with 93% of volume on the buy side yet money flow still negative. Signal strength drops to 29 out of 100, fading: the signal is in its seventh week.
This week's summary
XLP carved out a clean double bottom in the 82 area, with an intermediate 6% rebound, and this week it added 1.3%, pressing back toward the daily Bollinger Band's upper edge.
