Our view last week
The momentum cooling flagged last week on XLRE is holding: the week just closed slips 0.5%, with sellers back slightly ahead on volume and money flow down sharply from last week's peak. Momentum, down from 2.5 three weeks ago to 0.6, has stayed flat for two weeks, and the MACD histogram keeps narrowing. Price is still working the corridor between the double bottom in the 43 area and resistance just above 44.5.
This week's summary
This week XLRE, the US real estate sector ETF, climbed 2.2% as buyers retook control after last week's seller-led pause. Money flow is turning back up, the weekly MACD is improving, and price is now squeezed between resistance just above the 45.4 area and support in the 44.7 area, inside the same double-bottom corridor that has held for weeks. XLRE technical analysis: the structure still holds, but the pace stays cautious.
