Daily technical analysis of the US and Europe stocks market

In Milan Fincantieri gains 6.89% and Amplifon 6.81% while STMicroelectronics loses 3.02%; the FTSE MIB ETF rises 0.87%. ETF technical analysis: the European telecoms ETF drops 2.93% after the SpaceX deal, the US health care ETF gains 1.58%. Verizon down 10.14%, Moderna up 14.21%.

In Milan Eni rises 2.66% while UniCredit falls 3.08% and Intesa Sanpaolo 2.95%; the FTSE MIB ETF loses 1.27%. ETF technical analysis: the semiconductor ETF drops 3.35% and the Nasdaq 100 ETF 1.34% after the OpenAI revenue report, the energy ETF gains 2.97%. Nvidia down 2.94%.

In Milan UniCredit falls 4.18% and Intesa Sanpaolo 4.04% as the Italian bond spread widens; the FTSE MIB ETF loses 2.42%, the weakest in Europe. The European banks ETF drops 3.33%, the S&P 500 ETF 0.24%. Caterpillar down 5.75%, Micron up 4.06%, Société Générale down 5.01%.

In Milan UniCredit gains 1.64% on raised profit guidance while Leonardo falls 2.24% and Telecom Italia 3.66%. The utilities ETF jumps 2.98% on a nuclear deal and the S&P 500 ETF touches a record. Constellation Energy up 12.25%, Marvell 5.82%; BAE Systems down 4.08%.

In Milan Mediobanca drops 5.14% and Unipol gains 3.99% after Intesa's raised bid for Monte dei Paschi; Tenaris up 5.25%. Emerging markets ETFs jump on Brazil, Bradesco up 15%. The Nasdaq ETF sets another record. Schneider Electric down 9.97%, Nvidia up 2.11%, Tesla 2.20%.

In Milan Intesa Sanpaolo loses 6.78% and UniCredit 6.08% on the week and both turn to sell, before Intesa raises its bid for Monte dei Paschi. The Nasdaq ETF sets a record, the European banks ETF turns to sell. STMicroelectronics up 6.67%, Tesla 4.65%, Nike down 3.64%.

The European banks ETF loses 3.69% and the FTSE MIB ETF 2.24% as the Italian spread widens to 119 points. On Wall Street the energy ETF gains 1.95% and Accenture stock jumps 15.78% on earnings; Micron adds 3.03%, Boeing 3.35% and Bank of America falls 1.29%. Nike reports.

The technology ETF is the only US sector to rise, up 0.64%, as Micron stock posts a record 54-billion-dollar quarter after the bell. Northrop Grumman falls 4.19% as Boeing wins the Navy fighter contract, Moderna stock drops 5.35% on a sell rating and Banco BPM loses 2.06% in Milan.

The semiconductor ETF rises 1.19% against Michael Burry's puts and the utilities ETF 1.17% as oil drops 3.5% on Hormuz. Micron stock reports tonight, Carnival jumps 13.41% on record results, Oracle gains 3.91%, Apple stock slips 2.66% and Telecom Italia falls 3.67% in Milan.

The gold ETF loses 3.94% as yields hit a 19-year high, the Nasdaq ETF slips 1.07% after Meta's announcement sinks enterprise software, Boeing drops 6.91% and Nvidia stock rises 1.68% on its buyback. Milan holds up, with Eni up 2.03% and Amplifon up 6.08%.

Week closed: the semiconductor ETF rises 7.43% and turns back to buy as Michael Burry adds to his bets against Micron and chips. The gold ETF turns to sell, the S&P 500 ETF gains 1.27%, Microsoft 3.66%, and Milan rises 0.47% with UniCredit leading the Italian banks.

Yields at 2007 highs: the S&P 500 ETF closes down 0.08%, the communication services ETF rises 1.27% and the European oil ETF 1.16%, while the utilities ETF falls 0.98%. Meta up 4.50%, Oracle down 3.47%, Arm down 7.88%, Milan down 0.85% with Fincantieri off 5.47% and Eni higher.

The 5-year yield hits 5%: the S&P 500 ETF loses 0.72%, the Nasdaq ETF 0.84%, the gold ETF 1.80% and the utilities ETF 1.92%, while only the energy ETF rises, up 0.96%. Airbnb and Expedia sink 7%, CrowdStrike gains 4.97%, Milan down 0.24% with Eni up 2.82%.

Tuesday 22 September Wall Street rotates: Charles Schwab down 6.11%, Royal Caribbean down 6.14%, US banks off 2%, materials up 1.65%. Milan down 0.45% with Poste, FinecoBank, Telecom and Generali below minus 3%, STM up 4.37%, and gold rising as Hormuz deflates defence.
