Global ETFs technical analysis — overall read
The global ETF basket enters the week in the middle of the road, its average IQS Lite setup score at 41.6 — neither coiled nor extended, just unremarkable. The crowding tells the story: the ordinary band, scores running from the mid-thirties into the mid-fifties, holds 52.3 percent of the 65 names, just over half the book. Below it, a quieter cohort of compressed setups accounts for 27.7 percent, well under half, while the extended end stays thin — 18.5 percent sit stretched and a solitary name, 1.5 percent, has pushed into mature territory. What complicates the read is the split between trend and thrust. Weekly trend structure is genuinely broad: 76.9 percent of names carry a strong weekly EMA alignment, the vast majority of the basket pointing the right way on the higher timeframe. Yet the engine behind that trend looks tired. Only 18.5 percent show a positive weekly MACD, and just 26.2 percent are seeing positive Chaikin Money Flow — money is not following price. The daily picture is softer still: 41.5 percent already carry a weak daily EMA structure, close to half, and a mere 13.8 percent register strong daily momentum. Breadth of trend, scarcity of drive.
The tension is concentrated in that ordinary middle band, the most crowded slice of the book, where names sit without conviction in either direction. That is the uncomfortable place to be: these setups are neither quietly coiling for a move nor extended enough to be running, which means they will take their cue from whatever the broader tape hands them rather than generating it themselves. The real fault line, though, runs between the timeframes. On the weekly chart the basket looks healthy, with trend alignment dominant and most names still structurally constructive. Drop to the daily and that confidence thins fast — a large portion of the book has already lost its short-term EMA support, and almost nothing is driving hard to the upside. In practice that is a weekly uptrend being quietly undercut by near-term deterioration, the classic case where the higher-timeframe picture lags what is actually happening underneath. For the week ahead, watch whether money flow and daily trend begin to confirm the weekly structure or keep pulling away from it. If the daily erosion spreads up into the weekly EMAs, the broad trend support turns hollow; if flow turns and daily momentum rebuilds, the crowded middle has room to resolve higher. Let the shift in the daily structure lead the read.
